Hobbies! 02/01/2012
_How many of you out there, like me, try to keep up with hobbies while trying to balance work and life!? I've always been a jack of all trades (Masterette of None, unfortunately) and am trying to slow down to enjoy the fun things in life. The next hobby I'm going to under take is sewing! I've signed up for my first sewing class (At Urban Craft Center in Santa Monica, by the way. Jan 28th, join up and say hi!). I dream of making my own bags, totes, dresses and presents for friends. Hopefully work won't pull me away from it so I can be a sewing machine (Ha!)! A few questions for everyone: What are your current hobbies or hobbies you want to learn? Are there any hobby that you've mastered and are pretty good at now? Any sewing learning tips? Add Comment According to Wikipedia the A macaron (/mɑːˈkæ rɵŋ/ mah-KÆ-rhon)[1][2] is a sweet confectionery made with egg whites, icing sugar, granulated sugar, almond powder or ground almond, and food coloring. The macaron is commonly filled with buttercream or jam filling sandwiched between two cookies. They are predominantly a French confection I distinctly remember the first time I ever had a French Macaron. I was with my best friend out on a rare window shopping trip down Montana Ave in Santa Monica. We were having the best time and decided to walk into this small French bakery to make it even better. These little round discs caught my eye because first off I've never seen them before and second, they came in so many colors! Sweet pastel pink, green, blue, purple - you had to just imagine what these colors could taste like. To my surprise they were crispy on the outside and soft and sweet on the inside, like a tiny crispy cake! After that I would never forget them and in fact became a little obsessed with them since I had no idea when I would see them again because soon after the little French Bakery on Montana was no longer there. Luckily, they caught on like wildfire here in LA and at many places here there are huge varieties of unique flavors like the green tea and rose at Jin Patisserie on Abbot Kinney. If you've never had a French Macaron yourself I definitely advise you to seek some out! You won't regret it and if you are already a French Macaron lover like me or know one you can express your love for them with the French Macaron Earrings in the Little Sweet Thing Store!
